I tend to see the world on a timeline: how one moment leads to the next, how events connect and build a story. When I'm shooting or editing, I'm thinking about the timeline. What happened before, what needs to happen next, what could happen that doesn't need to connect but somehow still works, how it all explains itself and what could have, should have and could be crafted better. How does the image land? The sound? Starting my career at 19 as an assistant editor on reality and docu-features for TV might be the reason...
I'm drawn to real stories and real places, especially the ones that haven't been documented yet. I like traveling, discovering things that probably haven't been on record before, and recording them. There's something about that: the novelty and the preservation both at once.
The goal is to make it feel natural and uninterrupted, presented so the viewer observes it, becomes increasingly curious, wants to know and experience more.
